our story....

“We” are Beth and Evan, the proud owners of kricket lane. We are a family that includes Beth’s two daughters, Evan’s three sons, two dogs, and a tortoise.

When COVID-19 hit the world in 2020 and Beth was furloughed from her job at a designer fabric company, she used her access to fabric scraps and remnants to make face masks.

It began as donations to local organizations, friends, and family. However, once the word got out, the demand for fun and trendy masks grew and we formed the brand, ResponsibleChic.

In just a short amount of time, customers from all over the US were asking us for stylish facemasks as our ResponsibleChic brand grew dramatically on Etsy and Amazon.

It soon became a family affair as we enlisted Beth’s mother to help with sewing. Her father continues to help with cutting and sorting the fabric and elastic, while Evan was “promoted” to Shipping Manager and handles all aspects of the business other than sewing. We are proud to say, together, we have produced over 15,000 masks!

But as we expanded our creative offerings beyond facemasks, we realized we needed a name that will be relevant post-pandemic.

As we brainstormed for a new business name, we knew it had to incorporate things that are important to both of us. Beth grew up on an idyllic Lane in Ohio where her parents taught her the love of art, nature, the outdoors.

With that in mind, she suggested the name “Cricket Lane” to Evan. He reminded her that his mother’s license plate was “Kricket,” which was her nickname growing up. And so, it clicked - kricket lane - the perfect combination!

We hope you love our products as much as we love creating them!
