"We are Beth and Evan, the proud owners of Kricket Lane. Our family includes Beth’s two daughters, Evan’s three sons, two dogs, and a tortoise.

When COVID-19 struck the world in 2020, Beth was furloughed from her job at a designer fabric company. Utilizing her access to fabric scraps and remnants, she began making face masks.

Initially, Beth donated the masks to local organizations, friends, and family. However, as demand for fun and trendy masks grew, we formed the brand ResponsibleChic.

In a remarkably short span of time, our ResponsibleChic brand gained significant traction on platforms like Etsy and Amazon, with customers from across the United States seeking our stylish face masks.

​

As the brand flourished, it became a family endeavor. We enlisted the help of Beth’s mother for sewing, while her father contributed by cutting and sorting the fabric and elastic. Meanwhile, Evan assumed the role of Shipping Manager, overseeing all aspects of the business except sewing. Together, we take pride in having produced over 15,000 masks!

However, as our creative offerings expanded beyond face masks, we realized the need for a name that would remain relevant post-pandemic.

​

During our brainstorming sessions for a new business name, we sought to incorporate elements that held personal significance for both of us. Beth grew up on an idyllic lane in Ohio, where her parents instilled in her a love for art, nature, and the great outdoors.

​

Keeping this in mind, Beth suggested the name "Cricket Lane" to Evan. It then dawned on us that Evan's mother was affectionately known as "Kricket" during her childhood, as evidenced by her license plate. And just like that, it clicked—Kricket Lane, the perfect combination!
